The Custom Ring Process
Creating a custom engagement ring should feel exciting, not stressful. My role is to guide you through the entire process so you know exactly what to expect at every step.
From the moment we finalize the design to the moment the ring arrives, the whole process usually takes around 10 to 12 weeks.
Here is how it works.
Step I: Defining the Ring Design
In this first step we go through all the details of the ring together. We talk about the metal, the ring setting, the gemstone, the cut, and any other design elements you would like to include.
You do not need to know everything beforehand. I will guide you through the options and help you shape the final design so it fits your partner’s style and lifestyle.
This step happens before any payment.
The goal here is simply to create a clear vision of the ring we are going to make.
Step II: CAD Design
Once we have all the design details confirmed, we move to the CAD design stage.
A €100 deposit is required to create a 3D CAD model of your ring. This is a digital drawing that shows the exact proportions and structure of the design before it goes into production.
The CAD design is usually ready within 3 to 5 days, depending on how complex the design is.
When you receive the CAD drawing, you can request any adjustments you want.
We can modify the design until you are completely happy with
it.
Once you approve the final CAD design, we move to the next step.
Step III: Ring Creation and Stone Selection
After the CAD design is approved, the remaining balance is paid and the ring moves into production.
At this stage the design is finalized, which means no further design changes can be made. The ring will be crafted exactly according to the approved CAD drawing.
At the same time I begin sourcing the gemstone for your ring.
I will send you detailed videos and images of the stone so you can see it clearly before making your decision. If the first stone does not feel right, I will source another one until we find the one you are happy with.
Once the stone is approved, it is set into the ring and the ring is completed.
Step IV: Final Preview
Before the ring is shipped, I will send you detailed photos and videos of the finished piece.
These are taken from different angles and under different lighting conditions so you can clearly see the final result before it is sent to you.
